"Funeral for retired farmer on Thursday"

LOYAL - The Rev. Wendell Bennetis, pastor, will officiate at funeral services for Archie Dorn, 77, at 2pm Thursday afternoon at York Center Methodist Church, with burial to follow in the York Center Cemetery. The body, now lying in state at the Myre Funeral Home here, will be taken to the church tomorrow. Mr. Dorn, who for many years was a resident of Route 4, Neillsville, and who served 8 years as chairman of the town board of Loyal and also as clerk of his school district, died Tuesday at St. Joseph Hospital, Marshfield of old age complications. He and his wife, who retired from farming in 1945, had been living in Abbotsford since last November.

Mr. Dorn was born in Outagamie County, Wis., coming to Loyal Township, Clark County, as a child. In 1906 he left to work for a railroad company at Spokane, Washington, where his marriage to Mamie T. Rondorf took place on Oct. 7, 1906. Shortly after, they moved here to farm in the townships of Loyal and York. Survivors, in addition to the widow, are two sons, Dale Dorn of New Lisbon Lowell Dorn of Abbotsford one daughter, Mrs. Ansel Peterson (Lucille Dorn) of Marshfield one sister and two brothers in the state of Washington, Mrs. William White (Ina Pearl Dorn) of Spokane, WA, and Ray and Alfred Dorn of Seattle and five grandchildren. One sister preceded him in death.
