MRS. ANGUS LAMONT
Funeral Services for Mrs. Angus Lamont, 81, of Colby were held
Saturday at 10 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Colby. Mrs. Lamont
died at the Leahy Nursing Home at Abbotsford Wednesday, Oct. 23.
She had been living there the past few weeks. The Rev. John Pinion
officiated at the requiem high mass and at the burial, which was
made in St. Mary's Parish Cemetary. Pallbearers were Mike Stieber,
Elmer Wicker, Francis Steinwand, Paul Umhoefer, James Firnstahl and
Jerry Firnstahl. A rosary service was held at the Lulloff Funeral
Home at Colby on Thursday by the Christian Mothers Society and a
general rosery service was held Friday at the funeral home.
The former Mary Katherine Riplinger was born March 21, 1882 at
Colby, Clark County. Her marriage to Angus E. Lamont, who preceded
her in death Aug 5, 1963, took place at St. Mary's Church, Colby,
April 14, 1909. The couple lived in many parts of the country where
he was employed and settled on a farm south of Colby in 1919. n
1936 they moved into Colby. Mrs. Lamont was a member of St. Mary's
Catholic Church and the parish's Christian Mothers Society, the
Royal Neighbors of America, and the VFW Auxillary.
Surviving are two sons, Malcolm of Abbotsford, and Angus r. of
Colby, a daughter, Mrs. Bert C. (Katherine) Cattanach of Owen, 13
grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband
she was preceded in death by a son, David, who died at the age of
six months.
Those who attended the funeral came from Spencer, Milan, Athens,
Stevens Point, Loyal, Fon Du Lac, Medford, Madison, Whitewater,
Owen, Withee, Wausau, Marshfield, Unity, Abbotsford, Colby and the
surrounding area.
