Watson, Arthur (1904 - 1981)
Arthur Watson, 78, of 204 Union St., Loyal, Clark County, died at
3:40 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 14, 1981, at St. Joseph's Hospital,
Marshfield.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 17, at Hansen
Funeral Home, Marshfield. Rev. Donald R. Buch, pastor of Trinity
Lutheran Church, Marshfield, officiated and interment was in the
Bethel Cemetery, Janesville.
Serving as pallbearers were his grandsons. Hansen Funeral Home,
Marshfield, handled arrangements.
Graveside services were at 2 p.m., Monday at Bethel Cemetery.
Arthur Watson was born on Sept. 25, 1904 in Edgerton. He was
married on Feb. 6, 1934, in Chicago to Mabel Sandusky.
He was employed at Stoughton Feed Mill from 1928 to 1938. He had
served in the U.S. Navy from 1924 to 1928.
He farmed for 30 years in Janesville and moved to the Marshfield
area in 1962, where he also farmed. He was employed as a bus driver
for the Marshfield Development Center.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Marshfield.
Surviving him are his wife seven daughters, Mrs. Loren (Joan)
Humphrey of Friendship, Mrs. Robert (Ilean) Brockway of Janesville,
Mrs. Walter (Fern) Quillman of Oconomowoc, Mrs. Randy (Gwendolyn)
Hoffman of Darien, Mrs. Burns (Helen) Phillips of Rosenberg, Texas,
MaryAnn Watson, at home and Mrs. William (Elizabeth Louise) Bump of
Marshfield two sons, Peter of Janesville and Roger Of Torrance,
Cal. 47 grandchildren 13 great-grandchildren one brother, Peter
Oswald of Yellowville, Ark and one sister, Mrs. Gwendolyn Smith of
Racine.
Preceding him in death were two sons one daughter and his parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Roger (Mabel Tate) Watson.
