Maass, Edward (1910 - 1982)


Funeral services for Edward A. Maass, 71, Withee, Clark County, were held on Monday, Jan. 25, at 11 a.m., at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Owen.

Mr. Maass died at Muhlenberg Hospital, Plainfield, N.J., on Jan. 20, 1982.

Officiating was Rev. Richard Fliss. Interment was in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Greenwood. Maurina Funeral Home, Owen, handled arrangements.

Edward Maass was born in Appleton on Oct. 6, 1910.

He and Mary Tomac were married on April 13, 1937, at St. Mary's catholic Church, Greenwood.

He received his education in the Appleton area. He moved to Greenwood and farmed in the Town of Warner in rural Greenwood until 1971, when the couple moved to Withee.

He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and Holy Name Society.

Surviving him are his wife one daughter, Mrs. Harmon (Kathleen) Lookhoff of Plainfield, N.J. two sons, Bernard of Greenwood and Gerald of Wis. Rapids four brothers, Arthur of Green Bay, Fred of Weyauwega, Robert of Appleton and Willard of Appleton three sisters, Mrs. Leona Nelson of Neenah, Mrs. Dorothy Pluger of Green Bay and Mrs. Marie McDonald of Neenah and seven grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers were Joe Schaetz, Al Steffen, Bill Speich, Mike Speich, Greg Tomac and Dick Nerbun.
