Bergant, John (1909 - 1981)
John Bergant, 72, of Route 1, Willard, Town of Hendren, Clark
County, died at Memorial Hospital, Neillsville on Friday evening,
Nov. 20, 1981.
Rev. Michael Mertens officiated at 11 a.m. funeral services on
Tuesday, Nov. 24, at Rinka Funeral Home. Burial was in the Willard
Cemetery, with William Bayuk, George Bauer, Frank Celar, Alvin
Kaltinger, Walter Krultz and John Zagozen serving as pallbearers.
Rinka Funeral Home handled arrangements.
John Bergant was born on June 6, 1909, at Ely, Minn. to frank and
Mary (nee Grosell) Bergant. He was educated at Willard School.
He farmed in the Town of Hendren, retiring and working for Nelson
Muffler. He was a member of SNPJ Lodge.
Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. August (Mary) Stremikis of
Willard, Mrs. Corelia Bogolin of West Springs, Ill., and Mrs.
George (Angeline) Popacek of Rice Lake two brothers, Frank, at home
and Anton of Cicero, Ill. his mother, Mrs. Mary Bergant of Memorial
Home, Neillsville.
He was predeceased by his father.
