Clouse, Edith (1910 - 1982)


Edith Clouse, 72, of Route 7, Chippewa Falls, Town of Hallie, died at 7:05 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 18, 1982, at Sacred heart Hospital, Eau Claire.

Funeral services were at 11 a.m., Monday, Feb. 22, at Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal. Rev. Steve Shipowick of 7th Day Adventist Church, Wis. Rapids, officiated and interment was in Pine Grove Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were Donald Smith, Lynn Smith, Glen Clouse, Edward Bowman, Mike Kovatch and Harold Ott. Rinka Funeral Home handled arrangements.

Edith Smith was born on Jan. 11, 1910, at North Freedom, Wis., to Daniel and Inez (nee Frazier) Smith. She was educated at Bright School.

She was married to Ernest B. Clouse on Jan. 28, 1931, at Owen, Clark County. They celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 1981.

After their marriage they farmed in the Town of Beaver until 1951. In 1960, they built a home at Hatfield and lived there until 1979. They then moved to Chippewa Falls.

Surviving her are her husband three sons, Russell of Minneapolis, Richard of Chippewa Falls and Roger of Chippewa Falls one brother, Rupert Smith of Canyon City, Col. one sister, Mrs. Charles (Enid) Arp of Tollhouse, Cal. and one grandson, Roger, Jr.
