Schneider, Robert (1911 - 1982)
Funeral services for Robert Schneider, 70, of 113 N. Andrews Ave.,
Greenwood, Clark County, were at 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 23, at
Zion United Church of Christ.
Mr. Schneider died shortly before noon on Sunday, June 20, 1982, at
his home.
Officiating at the service was Rev. Alwyn York. Interment was in
Greenwood Cemetery, with Jim Hills, Alfred Buss, Alfred Schneider,
Ely Klessig, Verland Schneider and Orville Burtard, all nephews,
serving as pallbearers. Rinka Funeral Home handled
arrangements.
Robert Schneider was born to George and Emma (nee Wellnitz)
Schneider on July 9, 1911, in Oconto County.
He attended Colby Schools.
In 1934, he was married to Anna buss at Curtiss. After their
marriage, they farmed at Curtiss until 1937, when he began working
for Clark Electric Cooperatives until 1975, when he retired.
He was a member of Zion United Church of Christ and a member of the
church council. He was also a member of the volunteer fire
department and was a director of the Greenwood Cooperative Credit
Union.
Surviving him are his wife six sons, Allen of Milwaukee, Robert,
Jr. of Stoughton, David of Anchorage, Alaska, Thomas of Queens
Hand, Australia, Jerold of Rice Lake and John of Greenwood three
brothers, George of Colby, Herman of Marshfield and Alfred of
Ladysmith two sisters, Mrs. Harold (Pauline) Glenzer of Colby and
Mrs. Alvin (Gladys) Schumann of Waubun, Minn. and seven
grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents and one sister, Emma.
