Thompson, Roy O. (1904 - 1982)
Roy Thompson, 78, of Rt. 3, Neillsville, Town of York, died Friday,
June 18, 1982 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.
Services were at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 22, at Our Savior's
Lutheran Church, Greenwood. Rev. Samuel Kochel officiated and
burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.
Roy Thompson was born on Feb. 22, 1904, at Gilmanton, Wis., Buffalo
County, to Ole and Anna (nee Foss) Thompson. He received his
education at Gilmanton Schools.
He and Irene Sternke were married on May 11, 1941, at Mondovi.
After their marriage they farmed in the Town of York. He also took
a course in aircraft welding at Milwaukee.
He attended the Lutheran Bible Institute and was a member of Our
Savior's Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife, Irene one daughter, Mrs. Wallace
(Judith) Berquist of Edmonds, Wash. four brothers, Morris of
Mondovi, Walter of Mondovi, Edward of Minneapolis and Rev. George
Thompson of Cannon Falls, Minn. one sister, Mrs. Edna Moy of
Mondovi and two grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers were Dan, Paul, Luther and Dean Thompson and
Jim and Dan Mueller.
Rinka Funeral Home handled arrangements.
