Wilhelm Brussow 1848 to 1902

Wilhelm Brussow, son of Frederich Carl Brussow and Maria Christine Brussow, was born in Strehlow, Brandenberg, Germany July 10, 1848. Naturalized in Pennsylvania Wilhelm immigrated, Oct. 25, 1873 He married Charlotte Wilhelmina Klaehn in Clark Co., Wis., abt. 1881.

Charlotte was born in Stolzenburg, Vor Pommern November 22, 1852. She was the daughter of Wilhelmina Ulrich. Charlotte died August 15, 1909 in Loyal, Clark Co., Wis., at 56 years of age.
 

OBITUARY - - Loyal Tribune, Aug. 19, 1909

Mrs. William Brussow died of tumor of the brain at her home, four miles northeast of this village in the Town of Loyal on Sunday Morning, August 15, 1909. She died at 5 o'clock in the morning/ Just with the awakening life of a new day she went to sleep after much suffering. It was just as the birds carolled the coming of morning and just as the rosey fingers of the orb of day tinted the eastern sky. After a long and busy life, she died as she lived - honored and trusted. The deceased was born in Stolzenburg, Germany, on November 22nd. , 1852, and has been a resident on the farm where she died for a long time. Her husband preceded her on July 24th. , 1902. She leaves two daughters, Mrs. A. Grisold of Milwaukee, and Mrs. Walter Neiman of the Town of Loyal, and other relatives to mourn her loss. Funeral services were held at the Lutheran Church at noon Wednesday and the remains are interred in the Dodgeville ( Pine Grove) cemetery.

Wilhelm died July 24, 1902 in Tn. Loyal, Clark Co., Wis., at 54 of Pneumonia. No obituary found.

Wilhelm Brussow and Charlotte Wilhelmina Klaehn had the following children:

Emilie Brussow was born in Clark Co., Wis. abt. 1881. No Clark Co.birth record.
Living with husband, A. Grisold, in Milw. in 1909. Evidently He died in 1909.She was a widow in Milw. census in 1910.
She then married a Mr. Richey. They were living in Troy Center in 1938 according to her sister’s obit. No information on children or her death.

Olga Brussow was born July 11, 1882 and died November 25, 1938.
She married Walter Newman in Loyal, Clark Co., Wis., October 28, 1902.
Walter was born April 29, 1877. Walter died Feb. 10, 1952 in Loyal, Clark Co., Wis., at 74 years of age. Buried Loyal City Cemetery.
Olga died November 25, 1938 in Tn. Loyal, Clark Co., Wis., at 56 years of age. Buried in Loyal City Cemetery from Methodist church.

OBITUARY - - The Loyal Tribune, Dec. 8, 1938, pg. 1 Mrs. Olga Newman, the daughter of William and Charlotte Brussow, passed away at her home early Friday morning , November 25, 1938, at the age of 56. She was born in Loyal Township on July 11, 1882.

On October 28, 1902, she became the wife of Walter Newman. The home was blessed with two children: Leonard, who is still at home; and Ramona, Mrs. William Ammmerman, who lives in Loyal. A niece, Winifred Newman, who has made her home with the family since she was two years of age, and who shared faithfully in caring for Mrs. Newman during her extended illness, also holds a cherished place as one of the family. Beside these, and her husband, Mrs. Newman is survived by her sister, Mrs. Emilie Richey of Troy Center, Wis. and other relatives and friends. For many years she has been a member of the Royal Neighbors. Representatives of that organization joined in bringing their tribute of love and good will.
Mrs. Newman enjoyed the unusual record of having been born, married , and having spent her entire life in the home where she finally passed away. She was a lover of home, hospitable and kind to all. In August of , 1934, she experienced a slight stroke. The following February, she experienced another more severe, and from which she did not so quickly recover. On July 6 , 1935, she experienced a third stroke which left her since that time a helpless invalid. during the years since, she has had the faithful care of her loved ones. Finally, about a week before her passing, she experienced a fourth stroke, which was the occasion of her death. Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 28, at 1:30 P.M. from the home and 2:00 P.M. from the Methodist Church. Internment was made in the Loyal Cemetery, Rev. Raymond J. Fleming officiating. Pall bearers were Arthur Darton, Peter Schoch, Wm. Litka, Frank Schultz, Orin Trindal and Harry Voss. The flower girls were Mrs. Peter Schoch, Mrs. Wm. Litka, Mrs. Frank Schultz, Mrs. Orin Tridal,Mrs. Edgar Vick and Mrs. Harry Voss. CARD OF THANKS We Sincerely wish to express our grateful thanks to all the relatives, neighbors and friends who were so thoughtful during our recent bereavement, the loss of our Dear Wife and Mother. Especially do we want to thank Rev. Fleming for his comforting words , Claude Ohlrogge, the pall bearers, flower girls, and those who sent floral tributes, and those who contributed the use of their cars.

Leonard Neuman was born 29 Jan 1904 in Loyal, Clark Co., Wis. Leonard died Oct 1975 in Beaver Dam.
Ramona Neuman was born in Loyal, Clark Co., Wis. February 19, 1908.
She married William Ammerman in West Lima, Vernon Co., Wis., August 18, 1933. William was born in West Lima, Vernon Co., Wis. June 4, 1900. William died November 1982 in Plymouth, Wis., at 82 years of age.
OBITUARY - Sheboygan Press, Thursday, November 11, 1982 William Ammerman Willaim Ammerman, 82, formerly of Plymouth and a resident of Rocky Knoll Health Care Facility, died Thursday afternoon shortly after admittance to Plymouth hospital. He was born June 4, 1900, in West Lima, a son of the late Jacob and Eva Hines Ammerman. He attended school in West Lima. Mr Ammermann was a cheesemaker in Loyal and Spencer. On Aug 16, 1933, he married Ramona Newman in Loyal. The couple moved to Green Bay, where he was employed at Borden Foods, Inc, until 1953, when they moved to Plymouth. She died June 10, 1982.
He was a member of Salem United church of Christ, Plymouth, and of the Washington Masonic Lodge, Green Bay, the Zoar Shrine, Madison, and the Loyalty Chapter No 118, Order of the Eastern Star, Plymouth. Survivors are a brother, Virgil, of Reedstown; and three sisters, Mrs Frieda Smith of Viroqua, Mrs Palmer Olson of Richland Center, and Mrs Martin Georgson of Bakersfield, CA. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Monday at Wittkopp Funeral Home, Plymouth. The Rev Lowell Ferguson, pastor of Salem UCC, will officiate. Burial will be in Plymouth Woodlawn Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 am Monday, until the time of services.

Ramona died June 10, 1982 in Plymouth, Wis., at 74 years of age.

OBITUARY - Sheboygan Press, Friday, June 11, 1982 Ramona Ammerman Mrs William Ammerman, 74, died Thursday at Rocky Knoll Health Care Facility, where she had been a resident for the past year. The former Ramona Newman was born Feb 19, 1908, at West Lima (Vernon Co), daughter of Walter & Olga Newman. She attended schools in West Lima and graduated from La Farge High School. She graduated from Stevens Point Teachers College and taught school for eight years. Her marriage to William Ammerman took place at West Lima on Aug 18, 1933. The couple moved to Green Bay in 1939 and then to Plymouth in 1962. She taught school until 1968. Mrs Ammerman was a member of Salem United Church of Christ in Plymouth, a past matron of Loyalty Chapter 118 Order of Eastern Star, a member of the Plymouth Womans' Club, a past president of the Plymouth Garden Club and the Plymouth Hospital Auxiliary, and a member of the AARP Association. Surviving is her husband, also at Rocky Knoll. A brother preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 pm at Wittkopp Funeral Home in Plymouth. The Rev Edmond Hennig, assistant pastor of Salem United Church of Christ, will officiate. Burial will be in Plymouth Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3pm Sunday until the time of services. An Eastern Star memorial service will be held at the funeral home at 7 pm Sunday.
