Born, Feb. 17, 1945 in Greenwood, WI: raised and lived on a Dairy Farm 1 mile South Hyw# 73 of Longwood and then, 1/2 mile east and then, 1/4 mile south on the Family Behrens Farm until moving to Lake Forest, ILL in

1959.

 

Attended Longwood, WI: Grade School, Grades 1 thru 7, then 8th Grade at Greenwood ,WI: Grade School. High Schools, Lake Forest and Lemont, Illinois,  1959-1963

 

Joined the US Navy 1965/1969..  Vietnam Service 6/66  7/67. Fleet Marine Force Navy Corpsman (Doc) with 3rd BN 4th Marines 3rd Marine Division. In famous Operations Hastings, 7/66 and famous Operation Prairie 10/66 ( Hills 400-484 in the Razor Back Mts) fighting the 324B North Vietnamese Division near the DMZ in South Vietnam. Both times we stopped the NVA from crossing further into South Vietnam.

 

In two famous LIFE Photo's taken by late Larry Burrows, show aiding wounded Marines. During Operation Prairie.  Letters of being Recognized for photo’s by late, US President, Ronald Reagan and Ex-Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Marine General, Peter Pace.
