Anna Magdalena Gessert ( 1875 - 1953 )

Colby, Clark Co., Wisconsin

 

 

 

 Anna was the youngest of 10 children of:

 

Valentine George Gessert, son of Valentin Gessert and Judith Kasper, was born in Nierstein, Rheinhessen, Germany Feb. 2, 1833.  He immigrated with his parents before 1850. They are buried in Tn. Rhine.

 V. George married Anna Margaretha Mayer in Sheboygan Co., Wis., Nov. 20, 1855.  Anna was born in Hesse Darmstadt, Germany Feb. 13, 1832.  She was the daughter of Geo. Friedrich Mayer and Anna Maria Mayer. Anna died July 12, 1895 in Sheboygan Co., Wis., at 63 years of age.   Val. died April 14, 1884 in Sheboygan Co., Wis., at 51 years of age.

 

They had the following children:

 

Valentine Gessert was born in Tn. Rhine, Sheboygan Co., Wis. June 27, 1857. 

            He  married Christina Lena Danials in Tn. Rhine, Sheboygan Co., Wis., Feb. 22, 1882.  Christina was born in Wisconsin abt. 1856.  She was the daughter of Rhunard Daniels and Grace Jesse Daniels.  Christina died Mar. 24, 1936 in Tn. Rhine, Sheboygan Co., Wis., at 79 years of age. Valentine died Dec. 6, 1927 in Tn. Rhine, Sheboygan Co., Wis., at 70 years of age. They had no children.

 

Friederick Gessert  was born Oct. 27, 1858 in Tn. Rhine.

He married Magdalena Sander in Tn. Rhine, Sheboygan Co., Wis., Nov. 20, 1881.

Magdalena was born Jan. 31, 1863.  Magdalena and Frederick died in Plymouth.

 

They had three children:

            Mary A. Gessert was born in Sheboygan Co., Wis. Aug. 17, 1888. 

                        She married William Radloff. They had 6 children, lived and died in Plymouth.                             

            Walter G. Gessert  was born in Sheboygan Co., Wis. Nov. 4, 1890.  Walter died July 31, 1916 in Plymouth, Wis., at 25 years of age.

             Edwin Gessert was born in Sheboygan Co., Wis. Oct. 19, 1897. 

                        He married Verona Holtzmann. They had 10 children. Edwin and Verona both died in Plymouth.

 

                                   

Katherine Kate Gessert  was born in Tn. Rhine, Sheboygan Co., Wis. July 10, 1860. 

She married Henry Fischer in Sheboygan Co., Wis., Oct. 8, 1893. Henry was much older. His first wife had died. He had 7 children with her. He had just two children with Kate, Elsie and Raymond,  before his death before 1910. Kate died before 1930 in Sheboygan Co.

                                   

 

Maria Gessert  was born in Tn. Rhine, Sheboygan Co., Wis. Aug. 8, 1862.  Maria  died Nov. 27, 1882 in Tn. Rhine, Sheboygan Co., Wis., at 20 years of age.

 

Louisa Lizzie Gessert  was born in Tn. Rhine, Sheboygan Co., Wis. Feb. 20, 1864.  Lizzie died November 17, 1882 at her aunt’s home in Neillsville, Clark Co., Wisconsin, at 18 years of age.

 

Jacob Gessert  was born Mar. 12, 1866 and died Jan. 16, 1951. 3.  Jacob Gessert was born in Tn. Rhine, Sheboygan Co., Wis. Mar. 12, 1866. 

            He married Anna Edens Jacob and Anna both died in Sheboygan Co.

            Jacob and Anna  Edens  had 7 children.

 

George C. Gessert as born Feb. 20, 1868 in Tn. Rhine.  He married Eva Mathilda Gessert (his cousin) in Tn. Rhine, Sheboygan Co., Wis., March 27, 1892. Eva was born in Tn. Rhine, Sheboygan Co., Wis. Nov. 20, 1869.  Eva died Oct. 21, 1957 in Tn. Rhine, Sheboygan Co., Wis. George  died April 13, 1944 in Tn. Rhine, Sheboygan Co., Wis.

            George and Eva had 7 children.    

 

William Gessert  was born June 6, 1870. He married Henrietta Kissinger.He and Henrietta died in Sheboygan Co. They had  7 children.

 

Margaret Gessert was born abt. 1872 in Tn. Rhine, Sheboygan Co., Wis. 

            She married Arthur J. Feldman in 1901. They had two sons.

 

           

Anna Magdalena. Gessert was born Oct. 8, 1875 in Tn. Rhine and died Feb. 22, 1953 in Colby. She married Jacob Dessloch in 1899. They had three children and died in Colby, Clark Co., Wisconsin.

 

 

Note: There  were many more Gesserts from Hesse Darmstadt in Sheboygan Co. in the late 1900’s.
