Clark County Girl Never Missed School in 8 Years
Marshfield News Herald 25 May 1954 P. 11
Greenwood—Carol Jean Wendt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Wendt, Owen rural route, has been an outstanding student at Longwood State Graded School, near here, in more ways that one.
Carol has a perfect attendance record for eight years. Not once during that time was she absent from school, although she traveled five miles daily to and from school and her home.
In addition, Carol has maintained a high scholastic average at Longwood School, carried an active role in the Longwood Center 4-H Club, and has found time to take piano lessons from Mrs. Lawrence Munson. Her school teacher this year was Mrs. Mary Cornwall.
Carol, who will be 14 on May 29, plans to attend Greenwood High School in fall. An older sister, Geraldine, attended the Greenwood High School this year.
Carol is a member of West Side Evangelical and Reformed Church, where she and her sister were confirmed last year.
