William A. & Sadie Dorthea (Riemer) Kemnow

Owen, Hixon, Clark Co., WI

Our Kemnow family moved to Clark County, Wisconsin around 1869 after immigrating from Prussia.  Their surname was frequently incorrectly recorded as Kennow.  The family first lived in Monroe County and later, in Clark County.

Nan Decker was my aunt on my fathers side of the family, William A. and Sadie Dorthea Kemnow were my father's parents.  Nan was born on a farm in the Owen vicinity.  Dad moved out to Oregon following World War II and settled in Salem, OR where I was born.  Dad and mom owned and operated a Hardware and Sporting Good Store in Yoncalla, OR until theirs deaths in 1996 (mom) and 2002 (dad).  Richelle A.
