--Farmers, attention!—If in need of anything in the harness line bring in your produce—wood, potatoes, butter, eggs, in fact anything raised on the farm and we will trade for it and give you the highest market price.—C. E. Thorpe. 21 July 1901.

--The report that J. W. Beckman had sold out his hotel business is without fact, though a deal was partially made.  23 Aug 1901.

--J. G. Barber and wife arrived last week from Elwood, Ill., having driven the entire distance with a one horse rig. He being a harness maker, C. E. Thorpe has engaged him to help keep up with his rush of work. Mr. Barber says that from Neillsville to Greenwood is the first strip where crops are not suffering for rain and where grass is fresh and green. 23 Aug 1901.

--Thorpe & Williamson herewith quote a few of their prices: leather halters at 40 cents; 20 lbs. Axle grease for $1; complete single harness for $4.25; complete double harness for $15; rope halter ties for 5 cents; harness oil for 65 cents. Remember we handle the famous Turkish horse remedies and Bickmore’s gall cure, guaranteed to cure money refunded. 23 Aug 1901.

--C. E. Thorpe went to Minneapolis Tuesday to be gone a few days.  23 Aug 1901. (*see follow-on note 18 Oct 1901)

--W. J. Beckman, who has been running the Commercial House during the past year, has bought out a restaurant and confectionery business in Augusta and will move his family up there shortly.  18 Oct 1901.

--The Commercial House has been rented by C. E. Thorpe, who will take charge of it in a week or so.  Mrs. Thorpe is a No. 1 cook and housekeeper and with the help of an uncle and sister of Mr. Thorpe they will be prepared to take care of the homeless and wayfaring in homelike style and comfort.  18 Oct 1901.
