C. Busch began serving the Emmanuel & Reformed Church in Warner Township after G. Veenker left in 1884.  He served from 1885-1887 and was replaced by John Schmalz who served from 1888-1908.  He later moved to the Milwaukee area where he was associated with the Milwaukee Herald.

Notes

C. Busch, formerly pastor at the Emmanuel church on the West Side, now connected with the Milwaukee Herald, was visiting among old acquaintances hereabouts during the past week.  It was eight years ago that he was here.  Greenwood Gleaner, 7 Mar 1902.

Research

*The Warner Evangelical & Reformed Church Cemetery record says the parents of member Friedrich August Busch were Christian & Wilhemina (Meier) Busch.  Fred was born 19 Mar 1860 and he married Hermine Caroline, the daughter of Karl & Louise Bauman, but they did not come to the United States until the fall of 1909.   This is the church where C. Busch had ministered, so it seems likely that Friedrich August Busch may have been in some way related to the C. Busch referred to above.  Could he possibly have been an older brother or an uncle who had immigrated Lippe Detmold, Germany at an earlier time?  I have ordered a micro-film of the 1902 Milwaukee Herold, but it is a German Newspaper and I do not know how to read the language.  If you also have access to the a film of the paper and can help, please do let us know what you find out!

Possibility #1

Charles Bush, a carpenter who lived next to Rev. Veenker could have been a son of the C. Bush above.

Possibility #2

*****This seem like an excellent possibility because Jefferson County boarders Milwaukee Co. and would place C. Busch close enough to be associated with the German Newspaper, The Milwaukee Herold.  His year of immigration precedes the time  when he would have been in Warner Twp., Clark County's Evangelical & Reformed Church  from 1885-1887.
