Harry J Hornick was born in Chili Wisconsin on April 8th, 1923 to Anthony and Winifred Hornick. He was activated into the US Army on January 20th, 1943 and was assigned to the 391st Anti Aircraft Artillery AW BN Battery C. In Feb 28th 1944 he was sent to European theater and was part of the D-Day invasion of Normandy France in June 1944. During Harrys’ tenure in the US Arm his outfit was stationed in Rhineland Germany, Normandy France, and Northern France where he received the Victory medal, American Theater Ribbon, European-African-Middle Easter Theater Ribbon, W/4 Bonze Battle Stars, 3 overseas bars, and the good conduct medal. At the time of his discharge his rank was Private First Class.
He was honorably discharged from duty in January 1946 due to demobilization.
Harry married Cecil M. Powers on May 17th, 1947. In which they had four children, Earl, Barb, Skip (Harold), and Darrell. Harry had one son and two grandsons’ that followed in his military footsteps.
