(Bessemer Herald)
Frank J. Pazdernik, who came to Bessemer in February last from his former home near Dorchester, Clark County, Wis., contracted a severe cold which developed into pneumonia on Saturday, and resulted in his death at six o'clock Sunday evening, May 9th, 1909, at the home of his sister, Mrs. E. R. Bayliss.
His sudden death came as a severe shock to his many relatives and friends, who mourn the loss of one who was always of a cheerful and kindly disposition.
His relatives were summoned to his bedside when pneumonia set in, but only his sister, Mrs. Mary Hess, who lives near Rhinelander, arrived before his death. His mother, Mrs. Anna Pazdernik, and his brother, George, came from Corinth, Wis., where they have been residing with Mrs. John Stahlman, nee Anna Pazdernik, who graduated from the Bessemer high school in 1903. The recent birth of a baby girl to Mrs. Stahlman prevented her attendance at the funeral, and the Bayliss home, having been quarantined on Sunday morning on account of Irene Bayliss having scarlet fever, the other relatives were not able to see Frank until the time of the funeral, which was held on Wednesday at the Catholic Church. Interment was at the Bessemer Cemetery.
Deceased was 22 years, 4 months and 17 days of age, and is survived by his father, a Wis. veteran of the Civil War, who resides at Milwaukee; his mother, who will remain with her daughter, Mrs. E. R. Bayliss; three brothers, John and Edward of Bessemer, and George who will return to Corinth; four sisters, Mrs. Josephine Bayliss of Bessemer; Mrs. Mary Hess of Rhinelander, Mrs. James Fox of Waukesha, and Mrs. Anna Stahlman of Corinth, Wis. Since coming to Bessemer Frank was employed by the Bessemer Lumber Co.
