GEORGE YUNKER


George Henry Yunker, 86, Tucson, Ariz., died Monday, Aug. 15, 1994, in Tucson, Ariz. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 20, 1994, at Rinka Funeral Home, Greenwood. Pastor Jenny Schroeder officiated. Burial was in the Neillsville Cemetery.


George Henry Yunker was born on July 19, 1908, in Greenwood, Clark County, to Henry and Annie (nee Angerstein) Yunker. He received his education at Mound School and Neillsville High School. He married Flossie Loberg on Oct. 11, 1930, in Winona, Minn. He farmed near Greenwood until 1955. He worked in construction and mill work in the area until 1959, when he moved to Tucson. He then worked at a hospital in California until his retirement in 1977. He has lived in Tucson since.


Survivors include his wife two daughters, Alice (Vernon) Nolan, Wisconsin Rapids and Mary Ann (Ron) Hinton, Tucson, Ariz. seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his parents one son, Vilas Yunker and two sisters, Erna and Amanda.


Rinka Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
