Gwin, John ( - 24 Dec 1897)

John Gwin, a respected pioneer resident of Loyal, Clark County, died suddenly at his home Thursday evening, Dec. 24, 1897. He had gone over to the church opposite his home to attend a prayer meeting. On his way over he fell and hurt himself, though he went on to the meeting. After getting into the church he began to feel worse. Mr. Fullmer accompanied him home and remained with him a half hour or so, then returned to the church, leaving Mr. Gwin feeling better. He went out and brought in some wood and water and then went, as it appears, to lie down. When the family returned from the church a few moments later, they found him partly on the bed, with life extinct. (Greenwood Gleaner)
