Taylor, H. E. (31 Dec 1838 - 22 May 1898)
H. E. Taylor, jeweler on Sixth St.,
Neillsville, Clark County, died at 12 o'clock Sunday night, May 22,
1898, the cause being uremia.
Deceased was born in Tioga County, N.Y., Dec. 31, 1838, he, after
becoming old enough, following the carpenter and jewelry business.
In 1861 he enlisted with Co. H., 64th N.Y. Vol., but was discharged
later on account of being disabled by rheumatism. Returning to New
York he again took up his trade as jeweler, removing from there to
Minnesota, where he remained until 1868, when he came here and
opened up in business. In the year 1872 he was married to Miss
Nellie Chase of New York, who still survives.
The funeral occurred yesterday, interment was in the city
cemetery.
