Wilding, William (25 Dec 1846 - 5 Feb 1899)
Wm. Wilding was born in Kent, England, Dec. 25, 1846. He
came with his parents to America in 1853, being at that time only
seven years of age. They settled in New York State, where they
lived until twelve years later, when they came to Waukesha County.
In 1865 Bro. Wilding was employed by the government in the pioneer
corps after receiving his discharge he remained in Waukesha County
until 1868, when he came to Clark County, where he has resided ever
since, going out and coming in before this people. Dec. 24, 1870,
he was married to Miss Elizabeth Vine, who still survives him. Four
children were born to them, three of which remain. Aug. 16, 1874,
he was converted and received into the church by B. E. Wheeler, 25
years ago. He died Feb. 5, 1899, aged 52 years, 1 month and 11
days. Interment took place Wednesday, Feb. 8th. Funeral service was
preached at Pleasant Ridge Church Sunday afternoon, owing to the
extreme cold weather on Wednesday.
