DONALD SCHEEL (1916 - 1994)


Donald Dean Scheel, 68, Orlando, Fla., died Thursday, Sept. 8, 1994, at his home following a long illness. A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.


Donald Dean Scheel was born in Granton, Clark County to Robert and Sara (nee Lessig) Scheel.


He attended local schools and obtained his high school diploma while living in Florida. A Navy veteran, he served during the 1940's. He was stationed in Norfolk, VA. He and his brother, Ray, moved to Florida in 1950. He had lived in Florida since 1950, and retired after several years with the Maintenance Department of the Orange County School District.


Survivors include two sisters, Edna (Walter) Redig, Marshfield and Julia (Alton) Schmidke, Greenwood three step-children, Richard O. Burton, Sand Antonio, Texas Lou La Grange Burton, St. George, Utah and Barbara Burton Bartholomew, Fair Have, N.Y. 11 step-grandchildren eight step-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Flora Guernsey Burton Scheel, on July 25, 1988 one brother, Ray and one sister, Marie.
