Walker, Mrs. M. L. (1836 - 30 Jun 1899)
The remains of Mrs. M. L. Walker, who succumbed to heart disease at
her home in Fifield, Wis., on Friday, June 30, 1899, at the age of
63 years, arrived here (Neillsville, Clark County) last Saturday,
and rested in the Congregational Church until Sunday, when the
funeral obsequies were held, Rev. Buswell, of Mellen, an intimate
friends of the family of deceased, and formerly pastor here,
officiating and delivering an impressive funeral oration.
Mrs. Walker was born at Fort Deposit, Md., and came to this county
23 years ago. She was possessed of a cheerful disposition and
spread sunshine wherever she went. Her demise is a signal for
mourning to all who knew her.
Among those present at the funeral from abroad were Jas. Houston
and wife, their son Harry and daughters, June, Marie and Gail, and
Mrs. Hattie Lee, of Fifield Clint Walker, of North Adams, Mass. Dr.
W. C. Crandall, of Pelican Rapids, Minn., and Mrs. Geo.
Chamberlain, of Phillips.
