Horton, Winnie (1877 - 23 Oct 1899)
A telegram to Scott Raether last Monday evening announce the death
that afternoon, at her home in Watertown, S.D., of Mrs. Winnie
Horton, nee Raether, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Raether of this
city. The cause of her death was typhoid fever and her illness was
of short duration. Her life had been despaired of for several days
and Mr. and Mrs. Raether had been summoned to her bedside. Mrs.
Horton was about twenty two years of age and until two years ago
had resided in Neillsville, Clark County. In June 1896 she was
married to Will Horton, also of this city, and a year later they
removed to Watertown, where Mr. Horton accepted a position in a dry
goods store. Aside from her husband she leaves a six months old
babe. The remains arrived on the Midnight train last night and the
funeral arrangements will be made today.
