Horton, Winnie (1877 - 23 Oct 1899)

A telegram to Scott Raether last Monday evening announce the death that afternoon, at her home in Watertown, S.D., of Mrs. Winnie Horton, nee Raether, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Raether of this city. The cause of her death was typhoid fever and her illness was of short duration. Her life had been despaired of for several days and Mr. and Mrs. Raether had been summoned to her bedside. Mrs. Horton was about twenty two years of age and until two years ago had resided in Neillsville, Clark County. In June 1896 she was married to Will Horton, also of this city, and a year later they removed to Watertown, where Mr. Horton accepted a position in a dry goods store. Aside from her husband she leaves a six months old babe. The remains arrived on the Midnight train last night and the funeral arrangements will be made today.
