Muck, Gottlieb (6 Mar 1835 - 17 Feb 1900)
Gottlieb Muck died at his home on the North
Side (Neillsville, Clark County) Saturday evening, Feb. 17th, 1900.
He was apparently in his usual health in the morning was downtown
chatting with his friends, but shortly before noon was taken with
pains in his chest and stomach. Medical aid was summoned, but in
spite of all that could be done, he suddenly sank back and died
about 7 o'clock p.m. Deceased was born in Branbach, Germany, March
6, 1835 came to America in 1852. He was married to Elizabeth Miller
and resided at Jefferson, Wis., till about ten years ago. He bought
a farm in the town of York and lived there until about two years
ago, when he moved to Neillsville. He leaves a widow and three sons
and two daughters. The children are all grown up, one daughter
residing at home.
While somewhat retired from active business, Mr. Muck was
considered a most substantial citizen and by his cheery manner had
won many friends here. A short funeral service was held at the
residence Monday forenoon by G. W. Longenecker, and the remains
taken to his old home at Jefferson for interment.
The family desire to thanks those who assisted in their hour of
trial.
