GERTRUDE HAKOLA
Gertrude Esther Hakola, 71, Loyal, Clark County, died Thursday,
Dec. 8, 1994, at St. Joseph's Hospital Hospice Care Unit,
Marshfield.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10, 1994,
at Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal. Rev. Joseph Kraly officiated. Burial
was in Riverside Cemetery.
Gertrude Esther Wirtala was born on March 2, 1923, in Longwood, to
Nels and Maria (nee Myra) Wirtala. She received her education in
Longwood. After school, she moved to Illinois and lived with her
sister. She worked as a maid and in area factories. She married
Arthur Hakola on July 28, 1945, in Waukegan, Ill.
He preceded her in death on June 20, 1993. They both worked in
factories until moving to Loyal in 1950. They farmed until 1971 and
then moved into Loyal. She resided in Loyal until the time of her
death.
