Tourigny, Madaline (1870 - 04 Dec 1900)
Mrs. Madaline Charles Tourigny died very
suddenly at her home on the North Side (Neillsville, Clark County)
Tuesday night about 10 o'clock. The news of her death came like a
bolt from a clear sky to the community. She was downtown in the
evening returning about 8:30 o'clock, apparently in usual health.
Shortly after she was seized with convulsions. A physician was
summoned, but before he arrived she was in a state of collapse.
Mrs. Tourigny was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Charles who
were early settlers of the town of Pine Valley. She was born at the
Charles homestead about thirty years ago. She grew to womanhood
here and was educated in the Neillsville schools after which she
taught successfully for several years. Dec. 31st she was married to
Denis Tourigny. They had just fitted up their residence on the
North Side and began housekeeping. The husband, brothers and
sisters of the deceased have the sympathy of all.
