Connor, Nettie (31 Mar 1870 - 1 May 1927)

Mrs. James Connor died at the home of L. P. Walsdorf in this village (Thorp, Clark County, wis.) at an early hour on Sunday last, following a stroke of apoplexy suffered the evening previous. Nettie McCarthy was born at Wis. Rapids, March 31, 1870, and was united in marriage to James Connor of this village on July 11, 1892. Mr. Connor passed away on March 29, 1915. Deceased moved to Wis. Rapids several years ago and at the time of her death was paying relatives and friends here a visit. She ran the journey of her life in fifty-seven years, one month and one day. It is a path marked with kindness and cheer. Truth was the inspiration of her life and by kindness she exemplified its great worth. Among us all she ranked always as a woman of culture, refinement, sympathy, a kind neighbor, devoted mother and a true friend. Deceased leaves to mourn her sudden death, four children, Mrs. Wm. A. Bogumill of Mellen, Wis., Mrs. Beatrice Dooley of Milwaukee, James of Wis. Rapids and George of Los Angeles, Calif. Two sons, Charley, died in 1904 and Ronald in 1925. Also the following brothers and sisters: E. T. McCarthy, Ed McCarthy, Mrs. Thomas McGraw and Mrs. W. J. McGrogan, of Wis. Rapids, Mrs. Paul Graw, Marcell McCarthy, of Milwaukee, John McCarthy of Balfour, N.D., and Justin McCarthy of Webster.

The funeral took place on Tuesday morning from St. Bernard's Church, Father A. M. Muckerheide officiating, interment following the services in the Catholic Cemetery.
