Simerson, William (? - 15 Jul 1927)
William Simerson, for many years a resident here (Thorp, Clark County, Wis.) during Thorp's early days, died at his home at Medford on Friday last after an illness of several weeks duration. Deceased came here from Briggsville, Marquette Co. in 1881 and followed the profession of a "lumberjack" and camp foreman until 1896 when he moved to Medford, where he was employed for many years in the latter capacity by the late Joseph Gibson. In 1894 he was united in marriage to Miss E. Hogne (Hogue?) of Greenwood, who with two daughters and one son, are left to mourn.
Mr. Simerson was a member of Thorp Lodge No. 264, F. & A. M. from 1895 to 1926, when he became a member of the Masonic Lodge at Medford, the latter Lodge conducting the funeral which took place from the home on Sunday afternoon last and was largely attended.
Those attending the funeral from here were Wm. S. Wagner, Wm. Schoch, T. O. Mosher and Wm. Wagner, the former three serving as active pallbearers.
Interment followed the services in the Medford City Cemetery.
