Emerson, Nels (27 Mar 1843 - 5 Feb 1928)
Nels Emerson died at his home in the town of Worden, Clark County, Wis. on Sunday, Feb. 5, 1928, aged 84 years, 10 months and 9 days. Deceased was born in Lillihammer, Norway, on March 27, 1843, coming to this country in 1886, and has been a resident of this vicinity for about forty-two years. An attack of pneumonia and feebleness on account of age caused his death. His wife preceded him in death nineteen years ago.
Deceased was one of nature's noblemen, a kind father, neighbor and friend.
He leaves to mourn, three children, Andrew Nelson, Milwaukee, C. N. Berg, Thorp, Mrs. Sarah Bjornstad of Owen. Also two brothers, Christ Omenson, Blair, Wis., and Andrew Berg.
The funeral took place on Tuesday from Bogumill's Undertaking Parlors in this village, Rev. J. N. Midtlien of the United Lutheran Church of Stanley, officiating, interment following in the Thorp Village Cemetery.
