Swim, Harold E. (1923 - 8 Feb 1928)

Harold Edward Swim, the little son of Mr. and Mrs. Harlie E. Swim, died at the home of his parents here (Thorp, Clark County, Wis.), Wednesday, Feb. 8, 1928, at 10:30 a.m. of Cerebro Spinal Meningitis.

Harold was taken sick Thanksgiving Day Nov. 24, 1927, and was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital at Chippewa Falls Monday, Dec. 5, 1927. After spending six weeks and three days in the hospital he was discharged and brought home Jan. 12, 1928.

He was on the gain and everyone held good hopes for his recovery until Sunday, Feb. 5, when he was taken with a severe attack of nervousness and delirium. From Sunday until Tuesday his condition was unchanged. Tuesday morning he relapsed into the state of unconsciousness. He remained unconscious until death relieved him of all the agonies of one of the worst diseases known to mankind, on Wednesday, Feb. 8, 1928, at 10:30 a.m.

He leaves to mourn his death, his father and mother, two brothers, Harlie Eugene Swim, Jr., and Ellery Richard Swim, his grandparents, eight uncles, 8 aunts and eighteen cousins.

Funeral services were held at the home Saturday afternoon, Rev. Wendell Bennetts officiating. Rev. Bennetts preached a wonderful sermon, the text being, "The pure in heart shall see God." Interment followed the services in the Thorp Village Cemetery.
