Szalaj, Ignatz ( 10 May 1855 - 4 Sep 1928)
Ignatz Szalaj, aged 73 years, passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. M. E. Wojcik, on Friday, Sept. 4th at 5:50 p.m., after a linger illness of 2 years.
Mr. Szalaj was born in Poland, May 10, 1855. In 1890 he immigrated to Buffalo, N.Y. with his wife and two sons, Vincent and Anthony. After living there about 10 years, he moved to Mitterhofer country on a farm, and lived there until 4 years ago when his wife passed away and he went to live with one of his daughters. In May he went to live with another of his daughters, Mrs. M. E. Wojcik, where he has since made his home.
Besides Mrs. Wojcik the deceased is survived by two sons, Vincent and Anthony of Chicago, and three daughters, Mrs. Walter Klewicki of Thorp, Clark County, Wis., Mrs. John Kowalewski and Mrs. Frank Artabasy of Cornell, Wis.
The funeral was held Thursday from St. Mary's Church at Junction, Rev. J. Szymczak officiating.
