Agnes Rose Rueth, 83, Loyal, died Saturday, Aug. 7, 2004, in the Palliative Care Unit at Saint Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, where she was admitted on July 24, 2004. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 10, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Loyal. The Rev. Roman Kaiser officiated. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were Mark Rueth, Mike Rueth, Scott Rueth, Rick Rueth, Cory Rueth, Gary Rueth, Randy Rueth, and Paul "P. J." Rueth.

 

Agnes Rose Brzezinski was born Jan. 31, 1921, in Hawkins, to Bogumil and Adamina Brzezinski. Before she was one year old, her mother died, and she was raised by her aunt and uncle on a farm in the town of Beaver. She married Franklin "Fritz" Rueth on May 31, 1939, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Loyal. They lived on a farm north of Loyal which they rented, and then bought a farm of their own east of Loyal in 1951. She was a homemaker and a farm wife and raised nine children. In 1971, they retired and sold the farm to their son, Terry, and then moved into Loyal. Her husband passed away on Feb, 17, 1992. She continued to live in Loyal until the time of her death. She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and its P.C.C.W. and was a Gold Star Mother with the American Legion Auxiliary in Loyal. Her interests included spending time with her family, flowers, playing cards, quilting, sight-seeing, and going out to eat.

 

She will be sadly missed by her children, Larry Rueth, Loyal, Ronald "Butch" [Sharon] Rueth, Loyal, Richard Rueth, Nevada, Kathy Rueth, Spencer, Vickie [Jack] Kadolph, Loyal, Terry [Deb] Rueth, Loyal, and Paul Rueth, Loyal; 20 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Helen Kudak, Hawkins.

 

Preceding in death were her parents; her husband, Franklin; one daughter, Margie; one son, John; one daughter-in-law, Joyce; eight brothers, Charlie, Joe, Stanley, Walter, Ike, Felix, Bob and Marian; and one sister, Mary.

 

Cuddie Funeral Home, Loyal, assisted the family with arrangements.
