Eveline D. Kuester, 87, Greenwood, died Tuesday, Aug.3, 2004, at the Clark County Health Care Center, Owen. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 7, at Immanuel United Church of Christ, Greenwood. The Rev. Mark Schwinn officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery.

 

Eveline Dorothy Woepse was born March 17, 1930, on the home farm in the town of Longwood, to Henry and Johanna (nee Shmidt) Woepse. She married George O. Kuester on May 6, 1936. They farmed in the town of Longwood and later in the town of Warner until their retirement. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 1996. He died on Nov. 16, 1998. She was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ. Her interests included reading, crocheting, knitting, crossword puzzles, and playing cards.

 

Survivors include two sons, Jerrold (Nancy) Kuester, Holcombe, and Vernon "Butch" (Kathy) Kuester, Stanley; one daughter, Lola Venet, Withee; 11 grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

 

Preceding her in death were her two parents; her husband, George; two brothers, Oscar Woepse and John Woepse; and two sisters, Mary Horn and Anna Horn.

 

Cuddie Funeral Home, Greenwood, assisted the family with arrangements.

Kuester, Eveline Dorothy (17 March 1917 - 3 Aug. 2004)

GREENWOOD - Eveline Dorothy Kuester, 87, of Greenwood died Aug. 3, 2004, at Clark County Health Care Center in Owen.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Greenwood's Immanuel United Church of Christ. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Cuddie Funeral Home of Greenwood is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Eveline was born March 17, 1917, to Henry and Johanna (Schmidt) Woepse on the home farm in the town of Longwood. She was united in marriage to George O. Kuester on May 6, 1936.
