George H. Hare Sr., Greenwood, died Monday, Aug. 2, 2004, at Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. There will be no services held.
George Henry Hare was born Dec. 3, 1916, In Greenwood, to Charles and Olive (nee Sischo) Hare. He was raised and educated in Greenwood, graduating from Greenwood High School in 1935. After completing his schooling, he entered the U.S. Air Force and served for eight years. He married Flora Mae Fair on June 8, 1945, at the Loyal Methodist parsonage. They lived in Spencer and Marshfield for some time before settling in Greenwood. He worked for Roddis Mfg., and later, Weyerhauser Door, until retiring in 1979. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Greenwood, and the N.R.A. His interests included fishing, hunting, trapping, and Packers football.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Flora Hare, Greenwood; three children, Cheryl (John) Boushack, Charles (Cherilyn) Hare, and George (special friend Sude Ludwig) Hare Jr., all of Greenwood; four grandchildren, DuWayne Boushack, Ruthie Boushack, Wendy (Kent) Hinker, Jonah Hinker, and Xander Hinker; one brother, Merle "Bunny" (Louis) Hare, Greenwood; one sister Elma Elmhurst, Indiana, and close friends, Chuck Ludwig and Caroline Ludwig.
Preceding him in death were his parents; one brother, Earnest Hare; and one sister, Phelma, in infancy.
Cuddie Funeral Home, Greenwood, assisted the family with arrangements.
