GEORGE LAKEN
George Laken, 71, Lyons, Ill., died Friday,
Dec. 23, 1994, at La Grange Hospital, La Grange, Ill. following a
car accident. Services were held at St. Hugh's Catholic Church,
Lyons, Ill., at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 1994. Interment was
in the Holy Family Cemetery, Willard.
George Laken was born on Dec. 7, 1923, at Neillsville, Clark
County, to Frank and Mary Laken. He farmed with his parents and
then moved to Lyons, Ill., in 1953, where he owned the Wallboard
and Decorating Inc. He retired in 1989. He was a member of the
Lyons Lion's Club the Painters Union Mustang's Athletic Club and an
active member of St. Hugh's Church.
Survivors include three sisters, Jo Verschay, Greenwood Helen
Dergance, Hillside, Ill. and May Ann Berg, Washington D.C. and many
nephews and nieces.
