Conklin, Winifred E. (24 Feb 1916 – 27 Mar 1975)
Winifred Eleanor Conklin, 59, died at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield on
Thursday, March 27, 1975 of cancer. Funeral services were held Monday, March 31,
1975 at The Thorp Funeral Home, with Rev. H. P. Palmer officiating at the 1:30
p.m. service. Interment was made in the Butler Cemetery.
Pallbearers were brothers of the decease: Raymond Conklin, Lloyd Conklin, Homer
Conklin, Harold Conklin, Donald Conklin and James Conklin.
Mrs. Conklin was born February 24, 1916 at Kilbourne, Illinois. On March 6, 1940
she was united in marriage to Jack M Conklin at Thorp, Wisconsin. She resided in
rural Thorp since her marriage 35 years ago. She was a housewife, foster mother
and Town of Butler Clerk.
Surviving are her husband, Jack M. Conklin, Sr., two sons, Major Leslie Conklin
of Carlsbad, California, MM3 Jack Conklin of FPO New York, New York; three
daughters, (Judy) Mrs. James Kesler of Flat Rock, Michigan, (Lila) Mrs. George
Reed, Hurley, Wisconsin, (Connie) Mrs. Ed Irish, Thorp; six brothers, Raymond,
Lloyd, Donald and James Conklin from Illinois, Harold ad Homer Conklin from
Milwaukee; seven sisters, Blanche Wahlfeld, Nina Patrick, Floye Hughes, Daisy
Emmons, June Emmons, Patricia Kramer from Illinois, Evelyn Williamson of
Milwaukee.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Flossie and Leslie Conklin.
