JOHN H. CHRISTMAS (1845 - 1927)
John H. Christmas was born at Sandusky, Ohio, April 17, 1845. When
he was four years old his parents moved to Lansing, Mich., where he
resided until he was seventeen years of age, when he enlisted as a
drummer in the Union Army and served his country for four years. He
was wounded at the battle of Gettysburg and later received two
other wounds.
He died at his home in Greenwood, Clark County, Wis., June 10,
1927. He leaves to mourn his wife, two daughters, Maud of Vents,
Ore. and Eva of Huntington Bay, Calif., and three sons, Claud of
Montana and Bert and George, whose whereabouts are unknown.
Funeral services were held from the local M.E. Church Tuesday
afternoon under the auspices of the American Legion, Rev.
