Copeland, Helen E. (1919 - 1982)
Helen E. Copeland, 63, of Route , Neillsville, Town of Seif, Clark
County, died at 11:45 a.m., Thursday, July 4, at Memorial Hospital,
Neillsville of an apparent heart attack.
Funeral services were at Rinka Funeral Home, Greenwood, at 11 a.m.,
Tuesday, July 6. Officiating was Rev. Norbert Miller, pastor of the
United Methodist Church. Burial was in Babcock Cemetery with Les
Echo, Mike, Steve, Harvey and Jeff Copeland and Peter Begolke, all
grandsons, serving as pallbearers. Rinka Funeral Home, Greenwood,
handled arrangements.
The former Helen Long was born at Dexterville on Jan. 15, 1919, to
Walter and Maude (nee Lane) Long and received her education at
Dexterville School.
She and George Copeland were married June 24, 1934, at Nekoosa. She
worked for Whitewater Electronics for a couple of years. In 1974,
she moved to the Town of Seif and had been living there since with
her husband.
Survivors include her husband, George four sons, Gale of
Janesville, Doug of Delevan, James of Boscobel and Charles of Loyal
three daughters, Mrs. Edward (Zeebe) Echo of Rt. 3, Neillsville,
Mrs. Patricia Day of Janesville and Mrs. Eugene (Tanna) Begolke of
Whitewater three brothers, Robert Long of Arizona, Ruben Long of
Milwaukee and David Long of Milwaukee two sisters, Mrs. Elmer
(Lavina) Fuller of Arizona and Mrs. Roger (Verchel) Stebben of
Arizona three half sisters, Mrs. Lucinda Phillips of Sheboygan,
Mrs. Beverly Lavake of Milwaukee and Mrs. Gene Lavake of Milwaukee
21 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents, three brother and one
sister.
