A brand new girl arrived by the Stork route Sunday, and gladdened the home of Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Foemmel.

The Chili School District No. 7 will build a new schoolhouse this year, as was decided at Tuesday night’s extra meeting.  It will probably be a two room school building to avoid the emergencies of the future.  The number of scholars of school age is steadily increasing and it would not be advisable to put up a building sufficient for present needs and then to be obliged to build again within two or three years.  It is best to look to the future square in the face and do the best under the circumstances, though it may seem a little hard on the pocket book.  The laws require certain conditions of the schools, so we might just as well do what is required.  Besides it certainly will help to build up the town and village to an up-to-date school in its enviornments, it will draw good citizens and thereby increase the value of real estate, increase business and increase patriotism, especially towards your home town.

Alfred Kempin was in town Wednesday to visit with his parents.  Chas. Kempin is staying in Chili to visit for a while and recuperate from his long sickness.

For good patriotic editorials read the Chicago Examiner.  The Editor knows what real Americanism is.  He will give the answer to last week’s question.  Equal Justice at home and abroad, fairness to all regardless of consequences.

M.C. Behling has been trying to move his household good, cattle, horses and hay, but the poor roads have been in the way.
