Mikolainis, Jolanta D. (3 SEP 1960)

 

The Rev. Father Disher of St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church officiated at the ten o’clock double ring ceremony and Nuptial Mass which united Miss Jolanta Dorothy Mikolainis and Kenneth B. Micke in marriage Saturday, Sept. 3, 1960.  Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Kase Mikolainis of Withee and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Micke of Gilman.

 

White gladioli bouquets decorated the church altars.  The Sisters of St. Hedwig’s and children’s’ school choir sang the Nuptial Mass and "On This Day O Beautiful Mother," while the bride offered her bouquets to the Blessed Virgin.

 

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a chapel length gown of silk organza over tissue silk.  It was fashioned with a fitted bodice and long tapered wrist length sleeves.  Appliques of miniature roses of silk organza outlined the scoop neckline and accented the bouffant skirt.

 

A scalloped crown of iridescents and pearls held the imported silk illusion veil.

 

She carried a cascade bouquet of pink roses and stephanotis with ivy.

 

The maid of honor was Miss Phyllis Ann Micke, the groom’s sister, Madison; and bridesmaids were Mrs. Darlene Mikolainis, sister-in-law of the bride, Evanston; Miss Sharon Micke, sister of the groom, Gilman; and Miss LuAnn Gulcynski, friend of the couple, Thorp.

 

They wore pink full length dresses of silk organza over taffeta.  It was fashioned with a fitted bodice and bow trimmed with a semi-scoop neckline.

 

Pearl trimmed hats in halo formed were in matching petal pink.

 

Their bouquets were of pink and white daisies.  Their jewelry consisted of a double strand of pearls and earrings, gifts of the bride.

 

Miss Marilyn Gulcynski, friend of the couple, and Randy Stuttgen, cousin of the groom, were miniature bride and ring bearer.

 

Attending the groom as best man was Donald Mikolainis, brother of the bride, Evanston, and groomsmen were Bernard Stuttgen, cousin of the groom, Colby; and Neil Micke, brother of the groom, Gilman.  They all wore black tuxedos.

 

Ushers were James Skrzenta, cousin of the bride, Chicago, and Jerome Stuttgen, uncle of the groom, Stanley.

 

Honored guests were the bride’s grandmother, Mrs. Helen Rogus; the groom’s grandmother, also Godmother, Mrs. Theresa Stuttgen; and the bride’s Godparents, Mrs. Frank Skrzenta, Chicago; and Mrs. Frank Wnek, Thorp.

 

The mother of the bride appeared in a pale pink dress of silk organza over taffeta and had a corsage of pink sweetheart roses and stephanotis.  The groom’s mother wore a dress of blue embroidered silk organza over taffeta and also wore a corsage of pink roses and stephanotis.

 

Following the ceremony, a dinner was served for immediate friends and relation at St. Hedwig’s Parish Hall.  Supper was served at five for over 400 guests.

 

After the wedding trip to Canada the couple will reside on a farm near Gilman.

 

The bride is a graduate of Thorp High School and has been employed at Employers Mutual of Wausau.  The groom is a graduate of Gilman High School and attended the University of Wisconsin Farm Course for two years.

 

Out of town guests were from Wausau, Mosinee, Tomahawk, Birnamwood, Aniwa, Adgar, Medford, Owen, Withee, Gilman, Stanley, Colby, Greenwood, Madison, Athens, Eau Claire, Wauwatosa, Deer Brook, Stevens Point, Milwaukee, White Lake, Fenwood, Chicago, Evanston, Ill., Minneapolis, Indianapolis, Argyle, Standquist, Miolund, Murdock, Minn.
