Ouimette, George Marquis, Sr. (25 July 1925 - 11 April 2012) With Flag
George Marquis Ouimette, Sr., 86, of Manitowoc died peacefully April 11, 2012, at Aurora Hospital.
George was born July 25, 1925. He attended elementary school in Tomahawk. He was a member of the armed services for seven years, a WWII veteran and commander of the Manitowoc VFW Post. George graduated from UW-River Falls Wisconsin, held a master’s degree in reading and was employed at the Black River Falls Correctional Facility until his retirement. George loved being "up north" with his family where he spent his boyhood years. Those who knew him enjoyed his great sense of humor, his humble giving spirit, his strength of will and immense integrity.
He was preceded in death in 2009, by his wife, Helen (nee Krueger) of Manitowoc.
George is survived by his brothers, William and Victor; his sister, Jane Jones; and his seven children, Lorraine (Walter) Evans and their daughter Morgan; son Jean, son George Jr. (Diane) and their daughter Clarisse, daughter Nannette and husband Ian, son Jared (Margaret) and their children: Louis, Alexis, Jared, Tyler, Aaron and Madeline, son Rene and daughters Theresa and Michelle and son Larry (Melissa) and their children Michael, Julianna and Christiana.
George’s love of animals is to be recognized by having all memorial donations given in his name sent to the lakeshore Humane Society, 1551 N. 8th St., Manitowoc, WI 54420.
A memorial will be held on the land he loved so much, Sunday, April 28, 2012 at 2 p.m. at 5080 Will Dam Rd, Hazelhurst, WI
