SOUTH SPENCER

 

The SSS Homemaker club met at the home of Mrs. Joe Endreas, with Mrs. Mark Bennet as co-hostess, Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 19.  Nineteen members were present.  Following the business meeting the comforter making project was discussed.  The comforters will be made soon, as application cards have been received.  Reports were given on the Homemakers Annual County day which was held at Wausau.  The December meeting will be held December 17 at the home of Mrs. Guy Ingham, with Mrs. N. A. Peterson as co-hostess.  The meeting will be in the form of a Christmas party and gifts will be exchanged.  A lunch was served.

 

Private Marvin Yost and sister, Miss Helen Yost of Spencer visited Thursday afternoon at the Albert Adams home.  Private Yost left Friday for a camp in Georgia where he was ordered to report.

 

Private Floyd DuVall of Fort Knox, Tenn., spent a several days furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed. DuVall.  Raphael DuVall spent Thanksgiving day at home.

 

Mr. and Mrs. George Hanson and son, Willard, attended the funeral of Mrs. John Doine at Marshfield Tuesday afternoon.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Val McCracken of Island Lake, and daughter, Eleanor, who is an employee at a hospital at Ladysmith, spent the week-end at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Willman.  The two ladies are sisters.

 

Misses Eleanor McCracken and Veva Willman visited Friday evening at the homes of Mrs. Roy Dittman and Mrs. Ervin Hoops.
