Cornwell, Meta (15 March 1903 - 24 January 1966)

 

Mrs. Meta Cornwell, 62, died at a hospital in Virginia, Minn. January 24. She had been in poor health for several years.

 

Mrs. Cornwell was born in Perkinstown March 15, 1903.  She was married to Earl Cornwell at Jump River on May 10, 1922. They lived in Taylor County until 1939, when they moved to Clark County.  In 1954, the family moved to Ely, Minn.

 

Funeral services were held Friday from the Plombon Funeral Home in Stanley, and burial took place in Riverside Cemetery at Withee.

 

Pallbearers were: Nicholas and Julius Klapatauskas, Jr., Wallace Kuehl, Jr., Elroy Kuehl, Leroy Forester and Gary Mabie.

 

Survivors include five sons and eight daughters: Calvin of St. Paul Park, Minn., Vernon of Markesan, Leland of Ripon, David and Herbert of Ely, Minn., Mrs. Vaughn (Amelia) Forester of Stanley, Mrs. Julius (Freida) Klapatauskas of Thorp, Mrs.  Wallace (Vera) Kuehl of Finland, Minn., Mrs. Kurt (Eva) Burkick of Hopkins, Minn., Mrs. Donald (Gladys) Mabie of Catawba, Mrs. Wayne (Meta) Murphy, Mrs. Maynard (Lois) Hartshorn and Mrs. Thomas (Phyllis) Mabie all of Ely, Minn.  Other survivors are 48 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; two brothers, Daniel Dutzle of Owen and Ernest Dutzle of Thorp; and two half-brothers, August Griesback and William Griesback of Medford.
