Servin, Brita Ann (Marriage - 12 February 1966)

Wedding vows were exchanged Saturday in a double ring ceremony in St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville, uniting in marriage Miss Brita Ann Servin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred J. Servin of Rockford, Ill., and Richard John Schoenherr of Ft. Gordon, Ga., son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Schoenherr of Rt. 3 Neillsville. The Rev. Norman Lindloff performed the ceremony.

The bride approached the altar graced with gold vases filled with white chrysanthemums, with her father.  For her wedding she chose a lace-over satin gown, styled with a fitted bodice and an ankle-length bouffant skirt, enhanced with a full eight-foot train of lace. The rounded neckline was studded with rhinestones. A fingertip veil flowed from an heirloom pearl and crystal-studded crown.  Her bouquet was red roses and white stephanotis, entwined with ivy and white ribbon, and fashioned in the form of three heart-shaped rings.

Her maid of honor was Miss Dianne Peterson of Rockford, Ill.  She was attired in a light blue floor-length lace-over-satin dress.  She carried a crescent bouquet of white carnations and blue ribbon.

Miss Kathy Moore of Rockford wore a Nile green lace-over-satin floor-length dress as bridesmaid. Her bouquet was white carnations with green ribbon.

Sherry Servin, niece of the bride, from Rockford, Ill., was junior bridesmaid.  She was attired in a floor length yellow satin gown with yellow headpiece.  Her crescent bouquet consisted of pink carnations and ribbon.

The groom was attended by his brother, Edward K. Schoenherr. Groomsman was Ronald Mund of Rockford, Ill. Ushers were Frank Servin of Rockford, Ill., and Daniel Neubecker of Neillsville.

"O That the Lord Would Guide My Ways" and "O Perfect Love" were sung by Miss Beverly Schoenherr, sister of the groom, accompanied at the organ by Victor Lehmann, who also played the wedding march.

A reception for approximately 100 guests was held in St. John’s School cafeteria.

The groom, a former Neillsville resident and a graduate of its high school, is with the army stationed at Ft. Gordon, Ga.  The bride, a graduate of East high School in Rockford, Ill., is at present employed at a school of cosmetology in Rockford. The groom is training in communications. He was purchasing agent for a machine company in Rockford, Ill., prior to his induction.

People from away here for the wedding included: Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Servin, Mr. and Mr. Everett Carlson, Mr. and Mrs. Maynard Carlson, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Servin and family all of Rockford, Ill.; Leland Northup of Beloit; Kathy Moore, Dianne Paterson and Ronald Mund, of Rockford, Ill.; Kurt Schoenherr of Columbus; Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Buchholz, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Bird and family of Greenwood; and Mr. and Mrs. John Genteman and family of Marshfield.
