Nowobielski, Joan (1 OCT 1960)

Miss Joan Nowobielski, daughter of Mrs. Catherine Nowobielski of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), and Gerald Rademaker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Rademaker of Gilman, were married at a 10:00 a.m. ceremony in St. Hedwig’s catholic Church in Thorp on Saturday, Oct. 1, 1960.

The Rev. Francis Disher officiated before an altar decorated with white, yellow and bronze pompoms.

As the bride was given in marriage by her brother, Joe Nowobielski of Chicago, she wore a chapel length gown of silk mist taffeta and lace styled by a fitted bodice, Elizabethan collar and tapered sleeves.  Lace appliques decorated the bouffant skirt and a Swedish crown of pearls held her illusion veil.  She carried a bouquet of sweetheart roses and stephanotis.

Miss Sandra Baginski of Chicago was maid of honor and bridesmaids were Miss Mary Rademaker of Gilman, Miss Marlene Rademaker of Eau Claire and Miss Geraldine Hedler of Thorp.  They wore gowns of bronze and beige taffeta in street length, fashioned by fitted bodices with square necklines and brief sleeves.  Crushed contrasting cummerbunds accented the bouffant skirts and they wore feathered hats in matching colors.  Each carried colonial bouquets of cushion pompoms of bronze and yellow.

Linda Nowobielski was flower girl and Gayle Nowobielski was ring bearer.  The flower girl wore a dress identical to the bride’s and carried a cascade bouquet, a miniature of the bride’s.

Bruce Dietzler of Minneapolis was best man and groomsmen were Norman Rademaker of Gilman and Al Spaete of Granton.  Roger Larkowski and Tony Nowobielski ushered.

Following the service a wedding breakfast was served to the immediate family in Koolmo’s Ballroom, and supper for 200 guests was served at the same place.

The groom is a graduate of Gilman High School and operates a gravel truck.  The bride attended Thorp High School and has been employed by the Thorp Finance Corp.

Following a wedding trip to Canada and the western states, the couple will make their home in Thorp.
