Parnewicz, Julius (25 MAR 1888 - 10 OCT 1960)
Military funeral services were held at Thorp Funeral Home on Thursday, Oct 13
for Julius Parnewicz, 72, who passed away Monday, Oct. 10th, 1960 at
the Veterans Administration Hospital, Minneapolis. Father Martin Wachna
officiated at the 10 a.m. service and burial was in St. Mary’s National Catholic
Cemetery, Lublin. Mr.
Parnewicz, a retired farmer and businessman, was born March 25, 1888 in Vilna,
Poland. He came to America as a young man. He served in World War I, then
after his discharge he cooked as main cook in various camps. After he married
Caroline Liebecki in 1925 at Lublin, they settled on a farm there. In 1946 they
moved to the town of Maplehurst where they farmed and operated Burma Inn until
July 1958, when he retired and moved back to Lublin. Mrs. Parnewicz passed away
in February 1958.
Surviving are: one son, Bruno Parnewicz, Withee; five daughters, Mrs. Gerald
(Bernice) Ovyn, Withee, Mrs. Mike (Pauline) Morouceicz, Mrs. Eugene (Victoria)
Osamanski, Mrs. Dale (Helen) Anderson, Mrs. Ben (Lucille) Foster, all of
Chicago; seventeen grandchildren and three great-grandsons.
Pallbearers were Hank Gercau, Joe Penk, Joe Karakula, Joe Pancyrz, Ed Tytor, and
Ed Jasinski.
