March gave us one real taste of cold winter weather Sunday night and Monday morning,w hen the thermometer dropped to 32 below zero.  It was cold enough to freeze in dwellings that heretofore had been exempt from any damages.

The monthly meeting of the directors of the Chili State Bank was held Monday.

The roads in some parts of the county are in a frightful condition now.  What will they be when it becomes warm?

Aug. Silk, Geo. Allen, Jack Malamphy, Earl Fraser and John Prust brought John and Alois Tuchscher over to Marshfield Sunday night so they could see their brother Will.  On the return trip Aug. Silk and George Allen frosted their feet.

Wm. Tuchscher was operated on for appendicitis last week.  Monday of this week he had to be operated on again, as a last chance to save his life.  He is very low.

C.M. Blakeley is still moving his goods to his new home in the town of Sherwood.  Mr. and Mrs. Green moved onto the place last Friday.

Get your machinery you want to buy now, while you can move it on the snow.  If it breaks up once, you can’t move anything at all for a short time.

Mrs. Glen Snow was called to Coloma in Adams County last week Wednesday by news of the alarming illness of her sister, Mrs. Peck, who died just before Mrs. Snow reached her bedside.  Mrs. Snow remained for the funeral, and arrived home on Tuesday.

Mrs. Anton Hogenson and Mr. and Mrs. Gustave Kaddatz and baby were Neillsville visitors on Tuesday.
