Mrs. Ferrel of Chili visited town friends on Saturday.
Miss Anna Kampine went home to Chili on Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Tyler spent Saturday with friends at Marshfield.
Paul Goebel was a Marshfield visitor on Saturday.
Fred Zwick was a county seat visitor on Saturday.
Claire LaGrander is home from Spring Valley since Saturday.
A.J. Lammers of Plymouth was here Monday.
Clarence Strand was at Neillsville on real estate business on Tuesday.
Chas. H. Campbell was over from Neillsville between trains Tuesday.
A.F.C. Witt and Rush Wentworth were Marshfield visitors Monday.
Gottlieb Riedel was a Marshfield visitor on Saturday.
Mrs. Ordie Marshall of route 4 arrived from Beloit on Saturday.
Miss Abbie Ide is slowly recovering from her recent severe illness.
Miss Mary Schune was a Neillsville visitor on Monday.
Herman Schune and family went home to Altoona on Monday.
Edwin Haltaufderheide was at Marshfield Saturday.
Otto Henze and Gus Hahm were Chili visitors Monday.
Henry Clover of Marshfield was here scaling logs on Monday.
Jos. Sneberg was a county seat visitor on Friday.
Mrs. Gus Hagen visited Neillsville relatives a couple of days last week.
Wm. Machel was a county seat visitor on Monday.
Mrs. Thiel of Marshfield visited Mrs. John Rausch Monday and Tuesday.
W.F. Dahlke was at Wausau on Monday.
Rev. Geo. Crow was at Marshfield on Monday.
The Misses Frieda Wiernzinski and Ella Hales spent Monday with friends at Marshfield.
Mrs. Elizabeth Fuller is well on the gain and was in attendance at the meeting of the Circle at Mrs. W.S. Davis’ Wednesday.
Mrs. M. Hasz was given a delightful surprise party by her friends and neighbors one evening early this week in celebration of her birthday anniversary which was last Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Grassman, the newlyweds, with his two younger sisters, his brother Alvin and Miss Elsie Kurth, were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Grassman.
Mrs. Hugh Berg entertained the R.N.A. Wednesday evening. Mrs. Lulu Jacobson entertained them two weeks ago.
Mr. and Mrs. M. Potter and son Rollie of Duluth, Minn., came Saturday evening for a visit with relatives in the Byrl Winn home.
Lewis Mann of Glenbulah came up last Saturday on a week’s visit to relatives in the Geo. J. and W.D. Rose families.
Christ Paulson of Lindsey was a pleasant caller about town Saturday and was at Neillsville between trains that day, visiting his brother, Peter and family.
Mrs. Will Kurth is home from Milwaukee at St. Joseph’s Hospital in that city since Tuesday. Will went down last week Thursday and accompanied her home on Tuesday.
Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Pischer, newlyweds, left for Columbus, their new home, Monday. Alvin has accepted the position of the cheese maker there. We wish them success.
The Fred Frank family and their guests with the young people in the Carl Retta and Fred Garbush families, met at Mrs. Eva Canfield’s home and had a musical Sunday night, vocal music with violin and piano accompaniment.
Mrs. Milton L. Snyder of the town of York went to Greenwood on Monday in response to the news that her daughter, Mrs. Wellen Hartson, was very sick.
Mrs. Amelia Pischer came over from Neillsville last Friday and visited at E.D. Ackerman’s until Monday, giving what assistance she could to her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Alvin Pischer, in helping her to pack up to move to Columbus on Monday.
Mrs. Leonard Cole, after a visit with the Fred Hart and Chas. Bollom families, went home to Humbird Friday evening, accompanied by her nephew Glen Hart and those of his young school friends who were on the basketball team which played at Humbird that evening.
Mrs. Laura Mason and Mrs. Elizabeth Fuller were advised by letter early this week that their brother, Rev. Almond Breed of College Place, Wash., is in failing health through heart trouble of an alarming nature, and that his little granddaughter Mythol Breed, his son Frank’s only child, is not well and they fear the little one has tuberculosis, all of which is disconcerting news to their many friends here.
Mrs. Laura Mason visited at Chili on Tuesday.
Miss Bertha Barth spent Wednesday with her parents at Chili.
Mrs. Louis Hayden was up from Merrillan and visited her husband and other friends here on Friday.
Mrs. Paul Garbush and son Fred came home from their visit with Chili relatives on Sunday.
Conrad Stelloh and brother were over from Neillsville repairing a wind mill for Sid Davis on Tuesday.
Remember the chance to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at the Hard Time Dance March 17th. Good music.
Mrs. Harry St. Clair of Neillsville visited at Herman Schoengarth’s on Wednesday.
A Hard Time Dance will be given by the Crandall Orchestra at the Granton Opera House, Sat., March 17th.
Harley Piggott of the town of Loyal was here Friday and continued on to Neillsville.
Phillip Breseman went to Riplinger Friday to spend a day or two with his son Will.
Harold Rose and his cousin Lewis Mann of Glenbulah spent Monday with friends at Neillsville.
Mrs. W.D. Rose will entertain the Circle next Wednesday, March 14th.
Miss Grace Allbaugh and Mrs. W.S. Davis were Neillsville visitors on Saturday.
Edwin Haltaufderheide came home from Lake Mills with his brother Harold last week Tuesday.
Stephen Harsky returned to Alma Center and his work there at Fred Hohenstein’s on Monday.
Mrs. Montag and her little grandson Harold Montag of Chili, who had been here on a visit, went to the child’s home in Chili on Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Poole of Neillsville, after a 5 day visit at H.H. Hunter’s in Washburn, were pleasant callers about town on Monday afternoon, and took the evening train for home.
Rollo Welsh came down from Spokeville and spent the weekend here with his mother and other relatives.
Mrs. Chas. Cross and children came over from Chili Monday and visited at Walter Coil’s that morning, since which time they are visiting at Chas. Hayden’s in York.
Mrs. F.E. Gotter and baby Lobelia went home to Pardeeville Monday, accompanied by Miss Lisetta Lautenbach, who will make an extended visit.
Max Wiernzinski went to Markesan Monday, having employment there for the spring and summer.
Elder Trowbridge of Marshfield is here and holding a series of meetings in the Union Church at Sleepy Hollow on Route 4.
Frank Johnson came home from Marshfield Friday and made an over Sunday visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.P. Johnson on route 4.
The Granton Maroons played the Boy Scouts at Humbird last Friday night and came off with the honors. The score was 8 to 21 in the Maroons favor.
The crew of the passenger train Monday was all new. The regular crew, conductor, brakeman, engineer, fireman, etc., were off duty and in attendance at Mrs. Dennis O’Grady’s funeral. She was the fireman’s wife, and died at her home in Merrillan last Saturday morning. The funeral was held at the Catholic Church at Neillsville Monday morning with interment in the church Cemetery. Mrs. O’Grady will be remembered by many as a sister of Mrs. Greenleaf Raymond.
Dr. H.L. Rose is enjoying a visit from his father who is here from Wauwatosa the past two weeks.
Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Neinas spent Sunday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Reinhold Guk, in the town f Lynn.
Andrew Palmer, after a several month visit here with his sons Glen and Dan at the latter’s home, left for Flint, Mich. on Tuesday.
Mrs. Ann Riedel has been very ill and confined to her bed at the home of her son Charles for the past 8 weeks.
Mrs. Guy Potter and son Rollie of Duluth, Minn., after a visit at Byrl Winn’s, continued on to Grand Rapids Monday.
Mrs. Ross Paulson is home from Lodi and her visit to Mr. and Mrs. A.H. Tucker there, since Saturday and reports a very enjoyable visit.
Mrs. Joe Krause is home from her visit with the Adolph and William Foemmel families at Chili since Monday.
Mrs. Sharp of Black River Falls, who had been visiting Miss Abbie Ide and the latter’s brother Cassius Ide, went home on Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. Ed Schroeder and baby Raymond of Clintonville, after a visit at Elmer Hetzke’s, went home Saturday.
Michael Grasser was called to Neillsville Monday to see his old friend Jos. Herrian Sr., who has been alarmingly ill the past few weeks. John Herrian of Glendive, Mont., Mr. Grasser’s son-in-law, is at the bedside of his father Jos. Herrian Sr. since Saturday last. John is daddy to a fine boy sicne January 18th and for this reason, his wife is not with him on this trip. Baby Herrian is of too tender an age to enjoy traveling in the March weather we’re having this year.
Mrs. Wm. Bealer and Miss Mary Grobe came over from Chili last week Thursday and made an over Sunday visit between the homes of their sister Mrs. Herman Garbush and their brother Fred Frank.
Mr. and Mrs. Peter Faber of route 2, enroute home from Mendota, were pleasant callers about town on Monday. Mrs. Faber, we are pleased to state, is apparently quite well again, and surely looking fine.
Dan Palmer came home Saturday from his combination business and pleasure trip to Lake Mill, Waterloo and other state points. While on this trip he bought three Guernsey heifers, which he had shipped home by express. One of the animals arrived Monday morning, and the others that afternoon, all in good shape and are fine specimens of that breed.
Mrs. Willard Gerhardt and her two children, with Mrs. Waterpool and the latter’s little granddaughter Fern West, were over from Neillsville Saturday and spent the day at Oscar Johnson’s.
