Brian L.
Thompson, 60, Danville, Ill., formerly of the Stetsonville area, died Saturday,
April 28, 2012, at his residence.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 4 at Zion Ev. Lutheran
Church, Stetsonville, with the Rev. James Babler officiating.
Cremainal inurnment will take place at a later date in the Abbotsford Public
Cemetery, Abbotsford.
Brian was born Oct. 2, 1951, in Ladysmith, the son of Reuel and Arlys (Knudson)
Thompson. He was a 1969 graduate of Medford High School and received his
Bachelor's Degree in business administration from the University of
Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
Brian was baptized at St. John's Lutheran Church near Gilman where they lived
until moving to Stetsonville in 1960. Brian worked as a loan officer for various
financial institutions in Illinois for a number of years. He was currently
working as an independent mortgage broker at the time of his death. He was an
avid reader, especially history, Packers and Badgers fan. He also enjoyed sports
and traveling.
He was a member of Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, Stetsonville.
He is survived by his brothers and sisters, Sharon (George) Stecklein of
Derwood, Maryland, John (Jean) Thompson of De Forest and Nancy Thompson of
Manitowoc; a niece, Tracey (Kenneth) Gulden of Williamsburg, Virginia; two
great-nieces, Ellen and Megan Gulden of Williamsburg, Virginia; aunts, uncles,
other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Brian's family to be designated at
a later date.
